Ready to Leap

The wide, low format gives the horse exactly as much room as it needs. What is painted are fields — ochre, white, an orange back, a turquoise ground — and the rest is drawn: nostrils, legs, an eye at the upper left, all in a thin dark line laid over the colour. It is still standing, but the title already says what comes next.
