Her painting.
Marianne IgelAlthough a career — a business of my own — and a family were what mattered for many years, it was always a need of mine to express myself artistically and creatively.
Over time I developed my own manner, shaped above all by abstraction and by experimenting with different materials and techniques. Through laying on sand, structural paste or various papers, through the interplay of colours and forms and the appeal of contrast, charged works come about. My paintings are non-representational, and yet some people seem to find landscapes in them. That is no surprise: it is nature, and the images stored up inside me, that inspire my painting again and again.
Her story.
Marianne Igel paints abstractly and in layers. Anyone who would like to see the paintings in person is welcome in the studio — texture and layering can only be guessed at on a screen.
