Via Austria

Painted on a rice sack, with the sack’s own printing left standing: “EVEREST”, “NO 817”, “SALZBURG”, “AUSTRIA” and the weight, 20 KGS. The title comes from the sack rather than from the picture. In 2014 the Oberbayerisches Volksblatt named exactly this material — that she had been known to work an old rice sack into a painting.
