Marianne Igel / The paintings

Two paintings from ‘Ursprung Erde’

‘Marrakesch’ and ‘Darkness’ were shown at ‘Ursprung Erde’ in Bad Aibling in 2014. Their catalogue pages show the images and documented details. Price and availability are on request.

  • Abstract painting in warm tones: golden yellow and amber fields above, deep red and rust-brown masses at either side, and a pale cream band falling vertically through the centre

    Marrakesh

    Mixed media, 120 × 95 cm, 2014

“A true explosion of colour” was how the Oberbayerisches Volksblatt described this painting when it hung in “Ursprung Erde — Farbe und Form” at the Kunstverein Bad Aibling in July 2014. Marianne worked pure pigments from Morocco into the surface.

  • Two-part abstract painting, largely black: pale cream and ochre fields distributed across both panels, with scratched light lines and white spatters

    Darkness

    2 × (70 × 80) cm, 2013

One of the paintings shown at “Ursprung Erde” in Bad Aibling in 2014. The Oberbayerisches Volksblatt wrote that works like this one were given over — as the title suggests — to the darker end of the spectrum.
