The Small Format I

The first of seven pictures of 30 × 30 cm that she numbered herself. A pale, branch-like form grows down out of the dark blue at the left and divides the square; to the right of it everything stays white and lightly scratched. A small oval rimmed in ochre lies at the lower left, the only warm thing in the picture.
